An inspiring story about a Seagul who dared for more
Jonathan Seagull is an inspiring story for people who want to follow their hearts and make their own rules.
Like many of us, Jonathan wants to do things outside the social norms. He wants to fly higher, visit new places, basically do things differently. And when he finally musters the courage to do so, his life is never the same again. He goes on a life’s inspiring journey that the rest of the seagulls only dream of!
A simple, powerful, inspiring little book.
3 things that stuck with me:
- You’ll never know if you don’t try. Stop overthinking about that new “idea”, take the first step and see what happens.
- Visualize your goals before jumping in. Set your compass and sails and your ship will sail to its destination.
- Keep finding yourself a little bit each day. Be open to new ideas, remove the “that’s how I am syndrome” and keep discovering yourself each day.
Some of my favorite quotes from this book:
“You have the freedom to be yourself, your true self, here and now, and nothing can stand in your way”.
“Overcome space, and all we have left is Here. Overcome time, and all we have left is Now.”
“Jonathan Seagull discovered that boredom and fear and anger are the reasons that a gull’s life is so short, and with those gone from his thought, he lived a long fine life indeed.”
“To fly as fast as thought, to anywhere that is, you must begin by knowing that you have already arrived.”Richard Bach in Jonathan Seagull
I highly recommend you also read this inspiring book to your children! It’s very easy for them to understand and its teachings could help them start their own journey.
